Even to this day, The Lion King is one of the best examples of damn good animation that both kids and adults can enjoy. It seems like it was yesterday when it was released and started breaking records at the box office, but that was way back in 1994. Since then, the movie has been heralded as a true classic in animation.
Here is a classic Disney movie review of The Lion King:

After murdering Mufasa during a breath-taking wildebeest stampede (one of Disney’s most powerful scenes, deemed a classic) that he had set up, Scar makes Simba believe it was his fault for being the reason for the king’s demise. Unwilling to bear the shame and having the pressure of being next in line for the throne on his shoulders, Simba runs far away to escape his responsibility (and to save his own life). His life takes a drastic turn after two memorable characters, Timon and Pumbaa, save his life and help raise him with a new perspective – Hakuna Matata. Meanwhile, Scar has corrupted the kingdom and allowed the hyenas (the lions’ enemies) to roam free within their territory and hunt their food (now more scarce than ever). Does Simba have the strength to remember who he was, reclaim his rightful place as king, defeat his uncle Scar, and rescue his family from certain starvation?

Transformers the Movie (1986) is one of the greatest classic movies of the eighties, when animation was on still on the rise to mainstream audiences (and arguably had better quality and darker themes). Not only is it a defining cinematic presentation of the franchise, the movie has one of the greatest metal soundtracks. Just watching the movie and listening to the music (timed perfectly with the action scenes) triggers some major nostalgia, especially if you were a kid growing up during the time.
When the movie was released in the 80s, it failed to achieve mainstream success. However, it is one of the most critically acclaimed animated cult movies, having a loyal fan base to this day.
