Davone Bess: Dolphin WR On a Mission From Hawaii to Miami – Game Sports Realm

_____________

“Davone Bess has endured a long and difficult road to make it to the NFL.  Growing up with a single mother, losing his football scholarship to Oregon State, and doing time at a juvenile center were not enough to keep Davone down.

Davone Bess: ““I didn’t get drafted. And it was frustrating. But I didn’t give up. I knew whatever team I was going to, I was going to give my all and give my best. I set specific goals for myself when Miami signed me. They called me in the fifth round and I thought that was going to be my round. But they said they didn’t have any other picks and had to use their picks on, like, a lineman or a running back or something. So I was, like, OK.

Then right after the draft my phone was ringing off the hook. Like 12 teams called me after the draft but I had actually verbally committed to coming to Miami during the seventh round. So I ended up saying, ‘I’m just going to go to Miami.’ I did know the situation and I felt this was the best spot for me to come in and contribute.”

Ted Ginn is primed for a breakout season for 2009.

Ted Ginn is primed for a breakout season for 2009.

“Miami’s top 5 needs this offseason include NT, C, DB, LB and RT if free agent V.Carey leaves.  After a strong draft last year, Miami will look to further solidify the offensive line and the defensive front 7.  Dolphin wideouts are young and talented, leaving this area of need less urgent than initially thought.”

The advantage of playing with Pennington is that Ginn gets to work on his areas of weakness exclusively, such as short to mid-range routes and reading defensive coverages. This will only make Ginn a more complete, dangerous weapon when Chad Henne does comes in. Besides entering his 3rd season, the “breakout” year for most WR’s, Ginn for the first time will enter the offseason with stability at the QB position so fans should expect great thing from Ted next year.”

J Peezy, the heart and soul of the Miami defense.

J Peezy, the heart and soul of the Miami defense.

“Miami spent last year upgrading the trenches.  Look for the same this year as holes remain along the offensive and defensive interiors.  Miami’s approach to it’s own free agents will play a part in dictating the route Miami takes during the NFL Draft and the NFL Free Agency period.”

Well it’s been a great run for Miami following the aftermath of the Superbowl. Even though their season was cut short after the loss to Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens, the offseason is the next opportunity for the team to identify its core strengths and weaknesses.

Ted Ginn: Speed Kills – Game Sports Realm.com

Players cant even catch this guys shadow.

Players can't even catch this guy's shadow.

“Ted Ginn Jr., one of the fastest players in the NFL, has made great strides in his 2nd yr and now stands poised to make the next leap in his 3rd yr as one of the elite WR’s of the NFL.”

_____________

The Miami Dolphins is the team to follow for 2009 because of the superior acceleration it has on the field with the help of Ginn, as well as Chad Pennington’s expertise with his passes. Together they make a good team but the full extent of the partnership depends on how well they can bounce back after losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the 2008 Playoffs.

Ted Ginn Jr. is young and Chad Pennington is still new to the team. The Dolphins have made a vast improvement compared to last year. All that remains to be seen is if they have the ability to follow through.
